In order to supply herbs on a regular basis and in sufficient quantity, and in order to work in harmony with nature, I am particularly interested in harvesting "invasive weeds" as herbal medicines. Invasive plants are those that grow aggressively in areas where they were first introduced by man, either intentionally or inadvertently.
Those who are unfamiliar with the subject can turn to Timothy Scott's Invasive Plant Medicine. The book includes 24 descriptions of invasive medicinals. They are all of interest. Particularly, of those described, I am interested in Artemisia, Barberry, Dandelion, Japanese Knotweed, Plantain, Purple Loosestrife, Reed, Siberian Elm, Tree-of-Heaven, White Mulberry, and Wild Rose. There are many other invasives that are not mentioned in the book, that have important medicinal uses.
If you have any invasive weeds that you would like me to harvest, please let me know.
