Ganoderma tsugae is looking brilliant right now. Generally, these are found on Hemlock, but the first picture is of a dead Red Maple. Keep your eyes out for some, but don't be greedy. This slow-growing polypore can provide visual pleasure as well as medicine. Be mindful and don't harvest from public lands, or from private lands without permission.
