ASHWAGANDA as decoction, tincture, or wine is good as a soporific to promote sleep.

 

BLUE VERVAIN as tincture from the fresh plant is a good general nervine and calmative.

 

CATNIP as infusion or tincture as a relaxant and calmative.

 

CHAMOMILE as infusion as a general relaxant and soporific to promote sleep.

 

CLARY SAGE as essential oil enhances dreaming and the infusion is soporific and relaxant.

 

CRAMPBARK as decoction or tincture as a relaxant.

 

HAWTHORN as decoction, tincture, syrup, or solid extract as general nervine.

 

HOPS as tincture, infusion, or beer (IPA) as a relaxant.

 

JAMAICAN DOGWOOD as tincture or in decoction is soporific, relaxant, and anodyne.

 

JUJUBE seeds are ground into powder and used in hot water or pills to promote sleep..

 

KAVA KAVA as cold infusion or tincture is sedative and used to promote sleep.

 

LAVENDER as infusion or essential oil for general relaxation.

 

LOBELIA as tincture (ideally of fresh plant) as relaxant and antispasmodic.

 

MOTHERWORT as fresh plant tincture for anxiety and as a general nervine.

 

MUGWORT as tincture or infusion (in small amounts) and in dream pillows or moxabustion.

 

PASSIONFLOWER as tincture that is strongest from the fresh plant or infusion is soporific.



PEONY is used as decoction or tincture as a nervine and soporific.

 

PEPPERMINT as infusion is used for general relaxation.

 

ROSE adds flavor to infusion blends and has a general nervine property.

 

ST. JOHN’S WORT as fresh plant tincture as a general nervine.

 

TULSI, or HOLY BASIL, as infusion or tincture is nervine and adaptogenic.

 

VALERIAN as fresh plant tincture, cold infusion, infusion, or decoction as a sedative.

I like your post. Please can you mention some anti-inflammatory and neuro-protecive properties of some herbs.
By the way ,you forgot to add: Crotalaria Longirostrata and Erythrina Berteroana. and their chemical analyses. That would help.
